Rycroft is a small village located in northern Alberta, Canada. It is about 68 kilometers (42 miles) north of Grande Prairie. You can also find it 7 kilometers (4 miles) east of Spirit River. A fun place to visit nearby is Dunvegan Provincial Park, which is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Rycroft.
The area where Rycroft is now was first known as Spirit River. Later, in 1920, the name was changed to Roycroft. This was done to honor a well-known local person named R.H. Roycroft. Then, in 1933, the name was slightly changed again to what it is today: Rycroft.
