Steven Torriano Berry is an American film producer, writer, and director. This means he helps make movies and TV shows. He plans what happens, writes the scripts, and guides the actors. He directed Noh Matta Wat!, which was the very first TV show with a story made in Belize. It started airing on November 28, 2005.

Steven Torriano Berry was born in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. After college at Arizona State University, he went to a special film school at UCLA. This school is famous for teaching people how to make movies.

Early Work and Awards

While at UCLA, Steven Berry worked on many film projects. One of his short films was called Rich. He wrote, produced, directed, and even acted in Rich. This film won an award! On October 21, 2011, Rich was shown again. It was part of a big film event called "L.A. Rebellion: Creating a New Black Cinema."

Steven Berry is now a professor at Howard University in Washington, D.C.. There, he directed a horror film called The Embalmer. This movie is seen as one of the first "urban horror films." He has also written two books about films made by Black filmmakers.

Steven Berry is a member of a group called Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
