Saber Abar (Persian: صابر اَبَر) was born on June 8, 1984. He is a talented Iranian actor, director, and writer. Many people know him for his role in the movie About Elly (2008). This film was directed by Asghar Farhadi, who has won an Academy Award. Saber Abar has received several awards for his work, including two Iran Cinema Celebration Awards. He also won an Iran's Film Critics and Writers Association Award. He has been nominated for other big awards too, like the Crystal Simorgh and Hafez Awards.

Saber Abar's Career Journey
Starting in TV Shows
Saber Abar began his career as a TV host. He hosted a children's show called Rainbow. He also hosted a game show named In 100 Seconds. Later, he became well-known for his acting in a movie called Sha'ere Zobale, directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf.
Becoming a Film Star
In 2006, Saber Abar acted alongside Ezzatollah Entezami in Minaye Shahr-e Khamush. He played a driver in this movie. His performance earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Crystal Simorgh Prize.
His acting skills were also noticed in Dayere Zangi (2007). This led him to a role in Asghar Farhadi's famous movie About Elly. The movie was highly praised, with some critics calling it a masterpiece. In About Elly, Saber Abar played "Alireza," whose fiancée goes missing. This role brought him another nomination at the Fajr International Film Festival.
Saber Abar has appeared in many other films. These include Hich (2009), Nokhodi (2009), Thirteen 59 (2010), and Entehaye Khiabane Hashtom (2010). He also had a small appearance in Ayene-haye Ruberu (2010). More recently, he played the main character in the TV series The Frog.

Saber Abar is also active in theatre. He has acted with famous stars like Farhad Aeesh and Shahab Hosseini. Some of his theatre roles include Kargadan (2008), Dastan-e yek Pellekan (2009), and Caligula (2010). In 2010, Saber Abar also directed his own play called Vav-ha va Virgul-ha.
Writing Books
Besides acting and directing, Saber Abar is also a writer. He wrote a book called "To Seven Houses Away." This book is special because it's written in two languages. It tells stories about Iranian grandmothers from different parts of Iran. The book was published by Inja, Middle Of The Town in Tehran.
