Sadaf Taherian (born July 21, 1988) is a model and former actress from Iran. She appeared in many Iranian movies and TV shows. After she left Iran, Taherian shared pictures of herself online without a headscarf. This was not allowed by Iran's government.

Acting in Iran
Sadaf Taherian began her acting career in 2010. Her first movie role was in Nobody, Nowhere in 2011. She then acted in several TV series. These included Woodpecker in 2011 and Like a Dream in 2012.
Why Sadaf Taherian Left Iran
In October 2015, Sadaf Taherian posted photos of herself on Instagram and Facebook. In these pictures, she was not wearing a headscarf. She did this to protest against being forced to wear one. She also said she would speak out about the "dirty cinema of Iran."
She posted videos on her Instagram account to confirm she had left Iran. She moved to Dubai, which is nearby. Iran's law requires women to wear a hijab (headscarf). This law has been in place since 1979. Because of her actions, Iran's government said her behavior was not allowed. They banned her from acting in Iran. They also edited her photos to add a headscarf back into them.
Modeling Work
After leaving Iran, Sadaf began working as a model. She models for companies that sell cosmetics, beauty, and health products. In 2016, she worked with Watsons. Watsons is a very large chain of health and beauty stores in Asia.
Her pictures are often seen in beauty and fashion magazines. However, they are not published in her home country. She has also appeared in several videos that promote fashion brands.
