Sadaf Taherian (born July 21, 1988) is a model and a former actress from Iran. She appeared in several Iranian movies and TV shows. After leaving her home country, Sadaf shared pictures of herself without a headscarf on social media. This was against the rules in Iran and was criticized by the country's culture ministry.
Sadaf started her modeling career after she left Iran. She now works with companies that make makeup, beauty, and health products. These companies are in countries like Turkey and the UAE. Sadaf can speak Persian, Turkish, and English very well.

Acting in Iran
Sadaf Taherian started her acting career in 2011. Her first movie was called Nobody, Nowhere. After that, she acted in four TV series. Some of these TV shows included Woodpecker in 2011 and Like a Dream in 2012.
Why She Removed Her Headscarf
In October 2015, Sadaf Taherian posted photos of herself online without a headscarf. She did this to protest against being forced to wear one in Iran. She also said she would speak out about problems in the Iranian film industry.
Sadaf posted videos on her Instagram account. In these videos, she explained that she had left Iran and moved to Dubai. She also made it clear that her social media accounts had not been hacked.
In Iran, a law has made the hijab (a type of headscarf) required for women since 1979. Because Sadaf removed her headscarf, Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance called her actions "immoral." They banned her from acting in Iran. They even edited her photos to add a headscarf back onto them.

After leaving Iran, Sadaf Taherian began a new career as a model. She works with companies that sell cosmetics, beauty products, and health care items.
In 2016, she worked with Watsons. This company is a very large chain of health and beauty stores in Asia. Sadaf modeled for their beauty and health products. Her pictures are now seen in many beauty and fashion magazines. However, her images are not used in her home country of Iran. She has also appeared in several videos that promote fashion brands.
