Sadleir is a suburb located in south-western Sydney, Australia. It is about 37 kilometres (23 miles) south-west of the main city centre of Sydney. Sadleir is part of the City of Liverpool local government area.
Discovering Sadleir's Past
Sadleir was named after Richard Sadleir. He was the very first mayor of Liverpool back in 1872. The suburb was once part of a larger area called the Green Valley housing estate. This area was divided into smaller blocks in 1960 to create new homes.
