Sage Northcutt (born March 1, 1996) is an American professional mixed martial artist. He competes in the Welterweight division. Sage is currently signed with the Professional Fighters League. He has also fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and ONE Championship.

About Sage Northcutt
Sage Northcutt started training in MMA when he was just 4 years old. He competed in many places around the world from a young age. His father, Mark, is a black belt in shuri-ryū karate. His older sister, Colbey, is also a professional mixed martial artist.
When Sage was 9, he became the youngest person to be on the cover of Sport Karate Magazine. He won 77 world youth championships in karate. He was also an undefeated kickboxer, with a perfect record of 15 wins and no losses.
Sage went to Seven Lakes High School and then Katy High School. In 2012, at age 15, he was added to the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame. In high school, Sage also trained in wrestling. He later left college to focus on his MMA career.
Sage's MMA Journey
Starting His Career
In 2013, Sage Northcutt began fighting as an amateur in mixed martial arts. He had a record of 5 wins and 1 loss. His only loss was in his very first fight. When he turned 18, he became a professional fighter. He quickly won 5 fights in 16 months.
Fighting in the UFC
Sage Northcutt was noticed on a show called Dana White's Looking For A Fight. After winning a fight, he signed with the UFC.
He made his UFC debut on October 3, 2015, at UFC 192. He won his first fight by TKO in less than a minute! His next UFC fight was on December 10, 2015. Sage won this fight in the second round using a move called a guillotine choke.
Sage faced Bryan Barberena on January 30, 2016. He lost this fight by submission in the second round. He then returned to the lightweight division. On July 9, 2016, at UFC 200, he won his fight by decision.
He had another welterweight fight on December 17, 2016, against Mickey Gall. Sage lost this fight by submission in the second round.
After some planned fights were canceled, Sage faced Michel Quiñones on November 11, 2017. He won this fight by decision. He also won his next two fights against Thibault Gouti and Zak Ottow in 2018. The fight against Ottow was a knockout win for Sage.
After the fight with Ottow, Sage's contract with the UFC ended. The UFC decided not to sign him again at that time. They said he was young and needed more experience.
Moving to ONE Championship
On November 30, 2018, Sage Northcutt signed with ONE Championship. He had his first fight with them on May 17, 2019. He lost this fight by knockout in the first round. This fight caused him to have eight facial fractures, which needed surgery.
In November 2019, Sage announced he would move to a lighter weight class. He said he learned his lesson about fighting in a weight class that was too big for him.
After a long break, Sage fought Ahmed Mujtaba on May 5, 2023. He won this fight quickly in the first round with a heel hook submission. This win earned him the Performance of the Night award.
On October 18, 2024, it was announced that Sage Northcutt had left ONE Championship.
Joining the Professional Fighters League
On December 12, 2024, news came out that Sage Northcutt had signed with the Professional Fighters League. This happened after he did not compete in 2024.
Life Outside the Ring
Sage Northcutt studied petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University. In 2017, he decided to leave college to train for mixed martial arts full-time. Sage is a Christian. He married actress Amanda Leighton on December 5, 2020.
