Sagrada Familia is a town and local area (called a commune) in Chile. Its name means "Holy Family" in Spanish. It is located in the Curicó Province of the Maule Region.

How Many People Live Here?
In 2002, a count of all the people (called a census) showed that about 17,519 people lived in Sagrada Familia. More men lived there (9,108) than women (8,411).

The area of Sagrada Familia is about 548.8 square kilometers. Most people, about 12,439 (71%), lived in the countryside. Fewer people, about 5,080 (29%), lived in the towns. Between 1992 and 2002, the number of people living in Sagrada Familia grew by 3.7%.
How Sagrada Familia is Run
Local Government
Sagrada Familia is a local area that manages its own affairs. It is run by a group called a municipal council. The leader of this council is an alcalde, which is like a mayor. The people of Sagrada Familia vote directly for their alcalde every four years. From 2008 to 2012, the alcalde was Francisco Meléndez Rojas. He belonged to the Socialist Party.
Representing the People
The people of Sagrada Familia also help choose leaders for the country's main government. These leaders work in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. These groups help make laws for all of Chile.
