Where is Salisbury Mills?
Salisbury Mills is in the eastern part of Orange County. To its north, you'll find Beaver Dam Lake. The community is built along Moodna Creek. This creek flows east and eventually joins the Hudson River. It meets the Hudson River between New Windsor and Cornwall-on-Hudson.
The Moodna Viaduct
A very important landmark here is the Moodna Viaduct. This is a huge bridge that carries trains. It crosses over Moodna Creek at the eastern edge of Salisbury Mills. It is the longest railway bridge still in use in the eastern United States!
Getting Around Town
New York State Route 94 runs along the northern side of Salisbury Mills. This road helps people travel to other nearby places. For example, it goes about 6 miles northeast to New Windsor. It also goes about 10 miles southwest to Chester. Larger cities like Newburgh are 8 miles northeast. Middletown is about 19 miles to the west.
