Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (born on October 21, 1969) is the Crown Prince of Bahrain and the country's Prime Minister. As Crown Prince, he is next in line to become the king of Bahrain. He became the Crown Prince in 1999 and the Prime Minister in 2020.
Prince Salman is the oldest son of Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the current King of Bahrain.

Early Life and Education
Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was born in Riffa, Bahrain, on October 21, 1969. He is the eldest son of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his first wife, Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
When his father became the ruler of Bahrain, Salman was officially named the Crown Prince on March 9, 1999.
For his education, Prince Salman studied in Bahrain and then went to universities in other countries.
- In 1992, he earned a degree in public administration from the American University in the United States.
- In 1994, he received a master's degree in philosophy and history from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
- He also graduated from the famous Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2011.
Career and Responsibilities
Prince Salman has held many important jobs in Bahrain's government and military.
Developing Bahrain's Economy
From 1992 to 1999, Prince Salman worked at the Bahrain Centre for Studies and Research, helping to guide its work. In 2002, he was put in charge of the Bahrain Economic Development Board. His main job was to help Bahrain's economy grow and become stronger.
In 2013, he was also asked to lead a committee that looks after Bahrain's natural resources, like oil.
Military Service
Prince Salman served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force from 1999 until 2008. This means he was the top leader of the country's military. In 2008, he was given the title of Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Becoming Prime Minister
In March 2013, King Hamad appointed Prince Salman as the First Deputy Prime Minister. This gave him more responsibility in running the government.
On November 11, 2020, he became the Prime Minister of Bahrain. As prime minister, he is the head of the government and helps manage the country's day-to-day affairs.
In 2022, he represented Bahrain at the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in the United Kingdom.
Personal Life
Prince Salman was married to Sheikha Hala bint D'aij Al Khalifa. Together, they had four children. Sheikha Hala passed away on June 10, 2018.
Prince Salman is fluent in both Arabic and English.
Honours and Awards
Throughout his career, Prince Salman has received many awards and honors from Bahrain and other countries. These awards recognize his service and achievements.

- An honorary doctorate from the United States Sports Academy.
- The Order of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, one of Bahrain's highest honors.
- The King Hamad Order of the Renaissance.
- The Grand Cordon of the Supreme Order of the Renaissance from Jordan.
- The Order of the Liberation from Kuwait.
