Salmo is a small community in Bayfield County, Wisconsin, in the United States. It's not an officially organized city or town, but it's a recognized place where people live.
Wisconsin Highway 13 is an important road that goes through Salmo. The community is about 3 miles southwest of the city of Bayfield. It is also about 19 miles north of the city of Ashland.
History
Salmo got its name from the word Salmo. This is a scientific name for a group of fish that includes the famous Atlantic salmon.
The Bayfield Fish Hatchery is located in Salmo. This hatchery is on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's a very important historical site.
