Salvador Giménez Valls was born on May 31, 1948, in Muro d'Alcoi, Spain. He is a Spanish religious leader in the Roman Catholic Church. He served as the Bishop of Lleida until May 2025. Before that, he was the Bishop of Menorca.

Early Life and Education
Salvador Giménez Valls began his studies in 1960. He attended the Metropolitan Seminary of Valencia to learn about church matters. He also studied philosophy and history. He went to the Pontifical University of Salamanca and the University of Valencia.
Becoming a Priest and Bishop
On June 9, 1973, Salvador Giménez Valls became a priest. Later, he was chosen for higher roles in the church.
Serving as Auxiliary Bishop
On May 11, 2005, he was named the Auxiliary Bishop of Valencia, Spain. An auxiliary bishop helps the main bishop of a large area. He was also given the title of Titular Bishop of Abula. On July 2, 2005, he was fully appointed to this role.
Leading the Diocese of Menorca
On May 21, 2009, it was announced that he would become the Bishop of Menorca, Spain. He led the church in Menorca for several years.
Becoming Bishop of Lleida
On July 28, 2015, he was appointed the Bishop of Lleida. He officially started this role on September 20, 2015. He served the people of Lleida as their bishop.
Church Leadership Roles
In July 2022, Bishop Giménez Valls took on another important role. He was chosen as the new Bishop President of the Interdiocesan Secretariat for the Custody and Promotion of Sacred Art (SICPAS). This group is in Barcelona and works to protect and promote religious art.
Retirement and Successor
On May 21, 2025, Pope Leo XIV accepted Bishop Giménez Valls's resignation. This means he retired from his position as Bishop of Lleida. Daniel Palau Valero was appointed to take his place as the new Bishop of Lleida.
