Growing Up and High School Sports

Salvon Ahmed grew up in Kirkland, Washington. He went to Juanita High School. He was a very talented athlete in high school. He was even named to the USA Today all-state team as a defensive back.

As a senior, he ran for 1,300 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. This was impressive, even though he played in only six games due to an injury. He was also recognized by the Seattle Times as one of the best players in his area during both his junior and senior years. Besides football, Salvon also played basketball and ran track in high school. He competed in sprints and jumping events.

Professional Football Career

After playing three years of college football at Washington, Salvon Ahmed began his professional career.

Starting with the San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers signed Salvon Ahmed on May 1, 2020. He joined them as an undrafted free agent. This means he wasn't chosen in the NFL Draft but was signed afterward. However, he was waived by the team on August 25, 2020.

Time with the Miami Dolphins

The very next day, on August 26, 2020, the Miami Dolphins picked up Salvon Ahmed. He was waived again on September 5, but then signed to their practice squad two days later. A practice squad is where players train with the team but aren't on the main roster.

On October 9, 2020, he was moved to the Dolphins' active roster. This meant he could now play in real NFL games. He made his NFL debut in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals. In that game, he ran the ball seven times for 38 yards.

Salvon earned his first start and scored his first professional rushing touchdown in 2020. This happened in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers. In Week 15 of the 2020 season, he had a fantastic game against the New England Patriots. He rushed for 122 yards and scored another touchdown, helping his team win 22–12.

Salvon re-signed with the Dolphins on a one-year contract on March 10, 2023. He signed again for a fifth season with the Dolphins on March 14, 2024. On July 18, 2024, he was placed on a special list for non-football injuries. He was then waived by the Dolphins on August 19, 2024.

Short Time with the Denver Broncos

On October 1, 2024, Salvon Ahmed signed with the Denver Broncos practice squad. However, he was released by the Broncos just a week later, on October 8, 2024.

Joining the Indianapolis Colts

On October 16, 2024, Salvon Ahmed signed with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 6, 2025. This means he is part of their team for the upcoming season.
