Sam Miller (born September 28, 1962) is a British director and former actor. He is from Saxmundham, England.
As an actor, he was known for playing Sgt. John Maitland. This role was in the ITV police show The Bill from 1990 to 1993.
As a director, he has worked on many BBC TV shows. These include Cardiac Arrest, This Life, and Luther. He works with a company called Mustard Film Company in London. Sam Miller is also the father of William Miller. William is an actor and footballer who played Oliver Twist in a 2007 TV show.
Miller has been nominated for three Emmy Awards. These nominations were for his excellent directing work. He received one in 2012 for Luther. He got two more in 2021 for I May Destroy You. These nominations were for the episodes "Eyes Eyes Eyes Eyes" and "Ego Death," which he shared with Michaela Coel.
