Samantha Harris is an American TV host, model, and actress. She was born Samantha Harris Shapiro on November 27, 1973. She is famous for co-hosting Dancing with the Stars for many seasons. She also worked as a reporter for Entertainment Tonight.

Early Life and Family
Samantha Harris was born in Hopkins, Minnesota. Her dad, Richard, was a rock 'n' roll promoter. Her mom, Bonnie, was a dancer. In 1982, her parents started a fun event called King Richard's Faire. This is a renaissance festival in Carver, Massachusetts. It still happens every year! Samantha grew up in a Jewish family. She later went to Northwestern University.
Her Career in TV Hosting
Samantha Harris has hosted many TV shows. She joined The Insider as a host and reporter. Before that, she worked for E! Entertainment Television's E! News. She also hosted THS Investigates.
She helped cover big award shows live for E! News. These included the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Emmys. She was also a special reporter for Good Morning America. Before joining E!, she was a co-host for Extra. There, she interviewed many famous people.
Her most well-known job was co-hosting Dancing with the Stars. She worked alongside Tom Bergeron starting in 2006. Other shows she hosted include Fox's The Next Joe Millionaire. She was also a guest co-host on The View. In 2009, she hosted a week of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
In 2010, Samantha announced she would leave Dancing with the Stars. She wanted to focus on other projects. These included her work for The Insider and Entertainment Tonight. Later, Brooke Burke, a past winner of Dancing with the Stars, took over her role. In 2022, Samantha became the host of Tug of Words on the Game Show Network.
Acting Roles
Samantha Harris has also acted in movies and TV shows. Some of her roles were in D3: The Mighty Ducks and Beautiful. She also appeared in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
In 2009, she performed on Broadway. She played the character Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago. She performed for six weeks in New York City. After that, she played Roxie in a touring version of the musical.
Personal Life and Health
Samantha Harris married Michael Hess in 2005. They have two daughters. In 2007, she gave birth to their first daughter. She missed the start of Dancing with the Stars season five. Drew Lachey filled in for her. Three years later, she had her second daughter.
In 2014, Samantha shared that she faced a health challenge. She had breast cancer. She had surgery to help her get better. By October 2014, she announced that she was healthy and cancer-free.
