Thomas Raymond Bergeron (born May 6, 1955) is a well-known American television host and comedian. He is famous for hosting many popular TV shows. These include Breakfast Time, Hollywood Squares, America's Funniest Home Videos, and Dancing with the Stars. He also worked as an anchor on Good Morning America.

Tom Bergeron's Early Life and Start in TV
Tom Bergeron was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts. His parents were Adrian Raymond Bergeron Jr. and Mary Catherine Costello. Tom has French Canadian and Irish family roots. When he was 17, he even interviewed Larry Fine and Moe Howard from the famous comedy group, the Three Stooges.
Starting in Radio
Tom's first job in broadcasting was as a disc jockey (DJ). He worked at a local radio station called WHAV in his hometown. In the early 1980s, he became a popular radio DJ in New Hampshire. He played funny records and did interesting interviews. This helped him get more chances for TV and radio jobs.
Moving to Television
One of Tom's first TV jobs was hosting a local game show. It was called Granite State Challenge on New Hampshire Public Television. In 1982, he moved to Boston and joined WBZ-TV. He worked on shows like Evening Magazine. He also hosted Lottery Live, which showed the nightly lottery drawings.
By 1987, Tom started hosting People Are Talking, a popular talk show. He became even more well-known in Boston. In the early 1990s, he also had his own radio show called The Tom Bergeron Show.

From 1994 to 1997, Tom co-hosted Breakfast Time on FX. This show later moved to the Fox Network and was renamed Fox After Breakfast. In 1997, he joined ABC as a guest host for Good Morning America.
Game Show and Funny Videos Host
From 1998 to 2004, Tom was the host of Hollywood Squares. He even won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2000 for being an outstanding game show host.
In 2001, he became the new host of America's Funniest Home Videos (AFV) on ABC. This show featured funny home videos sent in by viewers. Tom hosted AFV for many years, until May 2015. He announced in 2014 that he would leave the show after its 25th season.
Dancing with the Stars and Emmy Awards
In June 2005, Tom started hosting Dancing with the Stars, another popular ABC show. On this show, celebrities team up with professional dancers to compete. Tom was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award nine times for his hosting on Dancing with the Stars. He won the award in 2012. He hosted the show until July 2020.
In 2008, Tom Bergeron also co-hosted the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards. He hosted alongside other famous TV personalities like Heidi Klum and Ryan Seacrest.
A Masked Singer Appearance
In 2020, Tom Bergeron surprised many by appearing on the third season of The Masked Singer. He performed as the character "Taco".

Tom Bergeron has been married to his wife, Lois, since 1982. They have two daughters together. In 2009, he wrote a book about his life called I'm Hosting as Fast as I Can!: Zen and the Art of Staying Sane in Hollywood.
