Samuel Tremblay, known as Samian, is a Canadian rapper. He was born on July 11, 1983. Samian sings and raps in both French and the Algonquin language.

Early Life and Beginnings
Samian is a member of the Abitibiwinni First Nation. He was born in Amos, Quebec. He grew up in Pikogan and other cities in Quebec. His mother is Algonquin, and his father is Québécois. Samian first gained attention in 2004. He took part in the Wapikoni film project. Later, he performed with the Quebec rap group Loco Locass.
Community Work
In 2005, Samian worked on many projects. These included Canada's National Film Board. He also helped with the Department of Indian Affairs. He supported groups working to prevent school dropouts. He also helped with awareness about health and other social issues.
Rising to Fame
In 2006, Samian won a top prize. His music video Courage was named best at a festival. This was the United Indigenous Peoples Festival in Pau, France. At this event, he opened for Florent Vollant. In 2006, he met Anodajay. They wrote the song "La Paix des Braves." This song was about an agreement. It was signed between the Cree Nation and the Quebec Government. The song became Samian's first single. Later, Loco Locass invited Samian to perform it. He sang the song at the Place des Arts in Montreal. This was during the Loco Locass Symphonique event.

Samian released his first album in 2007. It was called Face à soi-même. The album was released on Anodajay's 7ième Ciel Records. Samian has performed all over Canada. His 2010 album was named Face à la musique. It included a hip hop version of "Tshinanu." This song was originally by Kashtin. Samian did not use the old recording. Instead, he worked with Kashtin members. They recorded new guitar and chorus parts for his song.

On May 2, 2010, Samian appeared on a TV show. It was called Tout le monde en parle. He spoke about the Algonquin language. He shared that the language was in danger.
