Samuel Davis Dalembert (born May 10, 1981) is a Haitian-Canadian former professional basketball player. He played for 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Samuel was known for his amazing rebounding and shot-blocking skills.

Early Life and College Basketball
Samuel Dalembert was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He lived there until he was fourteen years old. After that, he moved to Montreal, Canada.
High School Journey
In Montreal, Samuel went to Lucien-Pagé High School. He also attended St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Playing for Seton Hall
From 1999 to 2001, Samuel played college basketball for Seton Hall University. This was an important step before he joined the NBA.
NBA Career Highlights
Samuel Dalembert was chosen by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2001 NBA draft. He was the 26th player picked overall. He played for the 76ers for eight seasons.
Moving to New Teams
After his time with the 76ers, Samuel played for several other NBA teams.
- On June 17, 2010, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings.
- On December 26, 2011, he signed a deal with the Houston Rockets.
- On June 27, 2012, he joined the Milwaukee Bucks through a trade.
- On July 19, 2013, Samuel signed with the Dallas Mavericks.
- On June 25, 2014, he was traded to the New York Knicks.

Playing for Canada
Samuel Dalembert became a Canadian citizen on August 7, 2007. He then joined the Canadian national team. He hoped to help them qualify for the Olympics.
International Games
He played his first game for the national team in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship. He led the tournament in blocks, averaging 2.4 blocks per game. He also played in pre-Olympic games in Toronto and Hamilton, Canada.
Helping Haiti
Samuel Dalembert is also known for his big heart and helping others. After the terrible 2010 Haiti earthquake, he traveled to Haiti to help with relief efforts. He also promised to donate $100,000 to UNICEF.
Awards for Good Deeds
Because of his help for the Haitian people, Samuel won the 2009–10 J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award. This award is given to NBA players who show great service and dedication to their community. He has continued to be involved in helping Haiti recover.
