Samuel Davis Dalembert (born May 10, 1981) is a Haitian-Canadian former professional basketball player. He played for 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball at Seton Hall University. During his time in the NBA, Dalembert was well-known for his strong rebounding and amazing shot-blocking skills.

Early Life and College Basketball
Samuel Dalembert was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He lived there until he was 14 years old. After that, he moved to Montreal, Canada, where he went to Lucien-Pagé High School. He also attended St. Patrick High School in New Jersey.
From 1999 to 2001, Samuel played college basketball for Seton Hall University. This helped him prepare for a career in professional basketball.
Playing in the NBA
Samuel Dalembert was picked by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2001 NBA draft. He was the 26th player chosen overall. He played for the 76ers for eight seasons.
After his time with the 76ers, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2010. Later, in 2011, he signed a deal with the Houston Rockets.
In 2012, Dalembert moved to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a trade. The next year, in 2013, he signed with the Dallas Mavericks.
In 2014, Samuel was traded again, this time to the New York Knicks. He played his last NBA game on December 27, 2014. In that game, he scored 11 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and blocked 4 shots. The Knicks later released him in January 2015.
Playing in China
After his NBA career, Dalembert signed with the Shanxi Zhongyu team in the Chinese Basketball Association in December 2015. He played for them during the 2015–16 and 2016–17 seasons.
Playing for Canada
Samuel Dalembert became a Canadian citizen in 2007. He then joined the Canadian national team. He wanted to help Canada qualify for the 2008 Olympics.
He played in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship. In that tournament, he led all players with 2.4 blocks per game. He also played in pre-Olympic games in Toronto and Hamilton.
Helping Haiti
After a big earthquake hit Haiti in 2010, Samuel Dalembert decided to go there to help. He also promised to donate $100,000 to UNICEF.
For his efforts to help the people of Haiti, he won the 2009–10 J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award. He has continued to be involved in helping Haiti recover from the disaster.
