San Carlos is a small community in Hidalgo County, Texas. It is a place where the U.S. government counts people, called a census-designated place (CDP). In 2020, about 3,087 people lived there.
San Carlos is part of a larger group of cities. This group includes McAllen, Edinburg, and Mission. Together, they form a big area called a Metropolitan Statistical Area. San Carlos is located northeast of McAllen.
