How San Clemente is Governed

San Clemente is a commune, which is a local government area in Chile. It is managed by a group of people called a municipal council. The head of this council is an alcalde, who is like a mayor. The alcalde is chosen by the people in an election every four years.

From 2008 to 2012, the alcalde of San Clemente was Oscar Galvez Rebolledo. He was a member of the RN political party.

San Clemente is also part of a larger area for choosing national leaders. It is in the 38th electoral district for the Chamber of Deputies.
