San Fabián is a special area in central Chile, located in the Ñuble Region. It is one of 21 communes in the Punilla Province. The main town and capital of San Fabián is called San Fabián de Alico. This commune covers a large area of about 1,568 square kilometers.

San Fabián is managed by a municipal council. This council is led by an alcalde, who is like a mayor. The people of San Fabián directly vote for their alcalde.
