San Jose i/sæn ˈdʒoʊz/ is a small village in Illinois, United States. It is located in both Logan and Mason counties. The village was founded in 1858. In 2020, about 479 people lived there.

History of San Jose Village
San Jose was officially planned and marked out in 1858. This process is called "platting," which means creating a map of the land with streets and lots. Later, in 1876, the village became "incorporated." This means it officially became a town with its own local government.
Geography of San Jose
San Jose is found in the eastern part of Mason County and the northwestern part of Logan County. A main road, U.S. Route 136, goes right through the village. It is known as Main Street.
Nearby Cities and Towns
- If you go west on Route 136 for about 24 miles (39 km), you will reach Havana. This is the main town, or "county seat," for Mason County.
- Going east on Route 136 for about 23 miles (37 km) will take you to McLean.
- The city of Lincoln, which is the county seat for Logan County, is about 21 miles (34 km) to the southeast.
