Sandlake is a small, unincorporated community located in Tillamook County, Oregon, in the United States. It's nestled between the towns of Tillamook and Pacific City, right off Sandlake Road. This quiet spot is named after the beautiful Sand Lake nearby, which is close to the Pacific Ocean.

How Sandlake Got Its Name
The community gets its name from a nearby body of water called Sand Lake. This lake is right along the Pacific coast.
A Look at Its Past: The Post Office
Long ago, on July 10, 1890, a post office was opened here. It was first called Hembree. This name honored the very first postmaster, A. J. Hembree. Later, on January 18, 1898, the post office's name was changed to Sandlake. The office stayed open for many years until May 1956.
