Sanjeeda Sheikh (born December 20, 1984) is a talented Indian actress. She works in both Hindi films and television shows. Sanjeeda is well-known for playing many different characters. Some of her most famous roles include Nimmo in Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa, Ayesha in Kayamath, and Durga in Ek Hasina Thi. She also played Kamini Mathur in Love Ka Hai Intezaar. Recently, Sanjeeda has appeared in films like Taish (2020), Kaali Khuhi (2020), and Fighter (2024).

Early Life

Sanjeeda Sheikh was born in Kuwait. Her family is Muslim and comes from Ahmedabad, a city in Gujarat, India.

Her Acting Journey

Starting Out in TV (2003–2019)

Sanjeeda has acted in many different TV shows. She started her acting career in 2005. Her first role was Nimmo in the TV series Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa.

Later, in 2007, she played a negative character named Ayesha in the Star Plus show Kayamath. In the same year, Sanjeeda joined a dance competition called Nach Baliye 3. She participated with her husband at the time, Aamir Ali. They won the competition together!

In 2008, she acted in the show Kya Dill Main Hai. She starred opposite Aamir Ali in this series, which aired on the 9X channel.

A big moment in her career came in 2014. Sanjeeda played Durga Thakur in Ek Hasina Thi. Durga was a strong and confident young woman. She was looking for justice for her sister. Critics and viewers really loved Sanjeeda's performance. This show became one of the most successful on Star Plus at that time.

In 2016, she played Dhani in Ishq Ka Rang Safed. This was the first time Sanjeeda played a mother on screen. Her character was a mother to a five-year-old child.

In 2017, Sanjeeda appeared in a supernatural web series called Gehraiyaan. She played Renya in this show. She acted alongside Vatsal Sheth, who was also in Ek Hasina Thi. The series was directed by Sidhant Sachdev. It was produced by Vikram Bhatt's company. Also in 2017, Sanjeeda played Kamini Mathur in a TV series. The show was called Love Ka Hai Intezaar. She played a superstar opposite Keith Sequeira on Star Plus.

Moving to Films (2020–Present)

In 2020, Sanjeeda Sheikh made her debut in Hindi films. She appeared in the movie Taish. In this film, she played the character Jahaan. She acted opposite Harshvardhan Rane. In the same year, she was in a Netflix horror film. It was called Kaali Khuhi. She played Priya and acted with Shabana Azmi.

Sanjeeda's first film release of 2024 was Fighter. She played Saachi, who was an Air Force officer's wife. She acted alongside Karan Singh Grover. Tushar Joshi from India Today said that Sanjeeda "provide[d] the right support." The film was a big success. It became the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024.

On March 2, 2012, Sanjeeda married her long-time boyfriend, Aamir Ali. In August 2020, it was shared that they had a one-year-old daughter. Her name is Ayra Ali. She was born through surrogacy. The couple separated in 2020. They were married for eight years. Their divorce was finalized in 2021. Sanjeeda received custody of their daughter.
