Where is Santa Teresa Gallura?

This lovely town sits right on the Strait of Bonifacio. This is a narrow stretch of sea that separates the island of Sardinia from Corsica. Santa Teresa Gallura is part of the province of Sassari, which is a region in northern Sardinia.

Long ago, people believe that an ancient city called Tibula might have been located near where Santa Teresa Gallura is today. It's a place with a lot of history!

What's it like to live there?

About 5,000 people live in Santa Teresa Gallura all year round. But when summer arrives, the town becomes much busier! The population can grow to between 10,000 and 15,000 people. This is because many tourists come to enjoy the sunny weather and beautiful scenery.

The main town square is a lively place. You'll find many shops where you can buy souvenirs and gifts. There are also lots of restaurants where you can try delicious Italian food. However, during the quieter months when fewer tourists visit, many of these shops and restaurants close down.

Just north of the town, you'll find Rena Bianca. This is Santa Teresa's main beach, famous for its white sand and clear blue water. It's a perfect spot for swimming and relaxing!
