Sarah Gabrielle Cabral de Menezes (born March 26, 1990) is a famous judoka from Brazil. She made history in 2012. Sarah became the first Brazilian woman to win an Olympic gold medal in judo. She achieved this by beating the champion, Alina Dumitru. Sarah also competed in the 2008 and 2016 Summer Olympics.

Early Judo Career

Sarah Menezes started her judo journey at a young age. She quickly showed great talent in the sport. Her hard work led to early success in international competitions.

First Big Wins

Sarah won her first major medal in September 2010. She earned a bronze medal at the World Judo Championships in Tokyo. This was a big step in her career. She continued to win bronze medals at the World Championships in 2011 and 2013.

Pan American Success

Sarah also did very well in the Pan American Judo Championships. She won gold medals in 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2016. These wins showed her strength in the Americas. She also earned silver and bronze medals in other Pan American events.
