Saratov Oblast is found in the northern part of the Lower Volga region. It shares its borders with several other areas:
- To the south, it borders Volgograd Oblast.
- To the west, it borders Voronezh Oblast and Tambov Oblast.
- To the north, it borders Penza Oblast, Samara Oblast, and Ulyanovsk Oblast.
- To the east, it borders the country of Kazakhstan.
People Living in Saratov Oblast
In 2010, about 2,521,892 people lived in Saratov Oblast.
Most of the people living here are Russians, making up about 87.6% of the population. Other groups include Tatars (2.2%) and various other ethnic groups (2.1%).
