Muhammad Sarwar Danish was born in 1961. He is a smart person who studied a lot and became a politician in Afghanistan. From 2014 to 2021, he was the Second Vice President of the country.
Before that, he worked as a minister. He was the acting Minister of Justice from 2004 to 2010. Then, he was the acting Minister of Higher Education from 2010 to 2014. He also helped create a new area called Daykundi province in 2004. He became its very first governor.

Early Life and Learning
Muhammad Sarwar Danish was born in 1961. His family lived in the Ishtarlay District of Daykundi province. This area is in central Afghanistan. He is part of the Hazara group of people.
Danish is a Shia Muslim. He went to college in a holy city in Iran called Qom. There, he studied law, journalism, and Islamic studies. He earned a special degree called a master's degree in Fiqh, which is about Islamic law.
From 1982 to 2001, he wrote many things. He wrote 15 books and 700 academic papers. He also learned to speak three languages fluently: Dari, Pashto, and Arabic.
Working with President Karzai
After the Taliban government was no longer in charge, a new government was formed. This was the Karzai administration. Muhammad Sarwar Danish helped with important meetings.
He was part of a big meeting in 2002 called the 2002 loya jirga. Later, President Hamid Karzai asked him to join a group. This group helped write the country's new laws.
In 2004, Hamid Karzai became president. Danish then became the Justice Minister. He followed the law by leaving his political party, Hezbe Wahdat, when he became a minister.
Working with President Ghani
When Ashraf Ghani became president, Danish continued to serve. He was the Second Vice President for both of President Ghani's terms. First, he worked with Abdul Rashid Dostum as a vice president. Later, he worked with Amrullah Saleh after the 2019 elections.
In 2021, the Taliban took control of Kabul. Danish and others had to leave Afghanistan. They went to Turkey for a while. In December 2021, he moved to New Zealand and settled there.
