Sauble Speedway is an exciting 1/4-mile short track motor racing oval. It is located near the beautiful Sauble Beach community in Hepworth, Ontario, Canada. This track is a hub for stock car racing fans. Every year, from June to September, you can catch thrilling races on Saturday nights. There are also extra Sunday night races on long weekends.

A Look at Sauble Speedway's History

Sauble Speedway first opened its doors in 1969. Back then, it was a dirt track, meaning the racing surface was made of soil. However, before the 1971 racing season began, the track was paved with asphalt. This change made the races even faster and smoother.

What Kinds of Races Happen Here?

The speedway has a weekly racing program that features several exciting categories:

  • United 8's: These races are for powerful eight-cylinder late model cars.
  • Combined 4's: This category is for speedy four-cylinder cars.
  • Junior Late Models: Young drivers get to show their skills in these races.

Sauble Speedway also welcomes many special touring series. These include the APC United Late Model Series and the Ontario Sportsman Series. You can also see OSCAAR Modifieds, Hot Rods, and Pro Sprints. Other popular events feature the Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series, Can-Am Midgets, and INEX Legend Cars.

Who Owns and Runs the Speedway?

In 2017, local business owners Paul and Lia Gresel bought the track. They brought new energy to the speedway. In 2018, Sauble Speedway received special approval from NASCAR. It then became part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.

In 2021, Jeff and Tina Cassidy joined as partners in the speedway. John Karley became the General Manager in 2022. Later, in October 2023, Brad Holmes took over as the new General Manager. These changes help keep the speedway running smoothly and exciting for everyone.
