Savona is a small village located in Steuben County, New York, United States. In 2010, about 827 people lived there. The village got its name from a city called Savona in Italy. You can find Savona in the eastern part of the town of Bath. It is located where major roads like Route 226, Route 415, and Interstate 86 meet.
History of Savona
Savona was once known by the name "Mud Creek" during the 1800s. The village officially became a village in 1883.
Geography of Savona
Savona is located at 42°17′7″N 77°13′8″W / 42.28528°N 77.21889°W. This means it is in the northern hemisphere, west of the prime meridian.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village covers a total area of about 1.0 square mile (2.6 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
The village is situated next to the Cohocton River. This is where a smaller stream called Mud Creek flows into the river. Savona is also at the intersection of state routes 226 and 415.
North of the village, there is a small body of water called Sanford Lake.
