Schwellbrunn was first mentioned in official papers way back in 1268. At that time, it was called Schwellbrunnen. This shows it has a long and interesting history!

Schwellbrunn covers an area of about 17.4 square kilometers (about 6.7 square miles). A big part of this land, about 61.5%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 33.3% of the area. The rest of the land, about 5.1%, has buildings and roads. A tiny bit (0.1%) is made up of rivers or mountains.
This town is in a region once known as Hinterland. Schwellbrunn is a special kind of village called a "linear village." This means its buildings are mostly spread out along a road. You'll also find many farmhouses scattered around the area.
Schwellbrunn is the highest village in its canton, sitting at about 966 meters (3,169 feet) above sea level. From here, you can see beautiful mountains and even Lake Constance (also known as Bodensee).
