Science & Vie Junior facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Science & Vie Junior is a French science magazine made for young people. It is published by Mondadori France. This company is part of an Italian media group called Mondadori. The magazine's main office is in Paris, France.

Parts of Science & Vie Junior

The magazine has three main parts to help you learn about science in fun ways.

  • L'actu
  • 100% Science
  • MySVJ

L'actu

This is the first part of the magazine. It focuses on the latest news from the world of science.

Cucaracha

Cucaracha is a fun comic strip found in the L'actu section. It's often the very first thing you see! The comic is about a clever cockroach named Cucaracha. She lives in human society and loves to watch the sky and stars with her small telescope.

Sometimes, strange shadows appear in her view. These are "Zoms," which is what she calls humans. They are always busy! Instead of waiting, Cucaracha watches them closely. She often has smart and sometimes funny thoughts about what they are doing.

The comic has a funny message: cockroaches just need to be patient. One day, they might even become "masters of the world"!

Cucaracha has been published every month since November 2001. You can find it on the first page of Science & Vie Junior. There are also some of these stories on the magazine's website. The comic was created by Marino Degano and Laurent Salles.

Tout en images

"Tout en images" means "All in images." This part of L'actu shows many pictures about a science event. Each picture has a short paragraph explaining what is happening. This section usually takes up seven pages of the magazine.

Other News Sections

Another part of L'actu shares news from different science fields. It often includes a quote from a scientist or expert. There is also a section called "Le nombre" (The number). This part gives you an interesting statistic related to science news. You can also find "textos," which are short text-only news bits without pictures. Sometimes, there's even a pretend interview about cool science topics, like anti-hydrogen.

100% Sciences

This section is all about science! It has a part that is similar to "Tout en images," but with fewer pictures. After that, you will find many longer articles. These articles might include a comic strip, fun science experiments you can try, tips about technology, and even some cool math tricks!

MySVJ

"MySVJ" stands for "My Science & Vie Junior." This section is where readers can find different kinds of content. It includes:

  • Articles
  • Reviews of science-related things
  • An invention idea
  • Answers to questions from readers
  • More comics
