Experts who scouted players for college teams all agreed he was a "5-star recruit." This means he was one of the top players in his age group.
On October 2, 2018, Scottie decided he would play college basketball for the University of Florida. He chose the Florida Gators over other big schools like Kentucky. He was originally from The Bronx, New York, and lives in Hazlet, New Jersey.
College Basketball Career
Scottie Lewis started his college career strong with the Florida Gators. In his very first game, he scored nine points and helped his team win against North Florida.
He continued to play well throughout his freshman year. On February 26, 2020, he scored 18 points in a win against LSU. In his sophomore year (2020–21), Scottie missed three games because he got COVID-19. He still played well, averaging 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. After this season, he decided to enter the 2021 NBA draft to become a professional player.
