Scottsburg is in the eastern part of Halifax County. You can find it at these coordinates: 36.759890 degrees North and -78.790515 degrees West.
Virginia State Route 344 goes right through the middle of the town. If you head northwest on this road for about 2 miles (3.2 km), you'll reach U.S. Route 360. If you go southeast for about 8 miles (13 km), the road ends at Staunton River State Park.
