Where is Seconsett Island Located?
Seconsett Island is in the southwestern part of Mashpee. It is near the water, surrounded by different bodies of water and another town.
To the northwest, it borders the town of Falmouth. To the northeast, you'll find Hamblin Pond. The Little River is to the southeast, with Monomoscoy Island across it. To the southwest, it meets Waquoit Bay.
Is Seconsett Island a Real Island?
Even though it's called "Seconsett Island," it's not a true island! There is a natural land bridge that connects it to Falmouth. This land bridge, called Meadow Neck Road, has Hamblin Pond on one side and Waquoit Bay on the other.
This means you can drive to Seconsett Island without needing a boat. It's a bit like a peninsula, but it's still often called an island.
