In the year 2000, about 3,078 people lived in Sedco Hills. Later, on July 1, 2008, Sedco Hills became a part of the nearby city of Wildomar.

Today, the name Sedco Hills is also used informally. It describes a part of the Temescal Mountains. This mountain area is located east of where Sedco Hills used to be. It's also west of Cottonwood Canyon Creek and south of the San Jacinto River.
