Paulo Sérgio Oliveira da Silva (born October 19, 1974 – died October 27, 2004), known as Serginho, was a talented Brazilian football player. He played as a defender for his team.
Serginho began his football journey in a town called Coronel Fabriciano in Minas Gerais state, Brazil. He became a defender for São Caetano. Sadly, during a match against São Paulo on October 27, 2004, he collapsed on the field. He had a serious heart condition that led to his death during the game. After an investigation, his team, São Caetano, faced a penalty. They lost 24 points because the team's staff knew about his heart problems from medical tests before the season. Even with the points deduction, the team was not sent down to a lower league.
