Serratus Mountain is a tall, jagged mountain found in British Columbia, Canada. It sits between Mount Tantalus to the north and Lake Lovely Water to the south. This mountain is part of the Tantalus Range, which is known for its rocky peaks.

Like many mountains in this area, Serratus Mountain is made of loose rock. This means that climbing it often involves "scrambling." Scrambling is a mix of hiking and easy rock climbing, where you might use your hands to help you move up. It's a popular spot for a day trip, especially for climbers staying at the nearby Jim Haberl hut. The first people to climb Serratus Mountain were B. Darling, S. Davies, and A. Morkill in 1911.

Weather at Serratus Mountain

Serratus Mountain is located in a "marine west coast" climate zone. This type of climate is found in areas near the ocean. It means the weather is often mild and wet.

Most of the weather for the mountain comes from the Pacific Ocean. Air carrying moisture moves east towards the Coast Mountains. When this air hits the mountains, it is forced to rise. As it goes higher, it cools down and drops its moisture. This causes a lot of rain or snow to fall on the Coast Mountains.

Because of this, Serratus Mountain gets a lot of precipitation, especially snow in the winter. Temperatures can get very cold, sometimes dropping below -20°C. With the wind, it can feel even colder, below -30°C. The best time to visit or climb Serratus Mountain is usually from July to September. During these months, the weather is more stable and pleasant.
