Severo Aparicio Quispe, O. de M. (October 8, 1923 – May 6, 2013) was a Peruvian friar and bishop in the Catholic Church. He was a member of the Mercedarian Order. He also wrote many books about the history of the Catholic Church in Peru. He wrote about his own Mercedarian Order too.

About Severo Aparicio Quispe
Severo Aparicio Quispe was born in San Pedro de Lloc, Pacasmayo, Peru. He later joined the Mercedarian friars. A friar is a member of a religious group who lives and works among the public.
His Journey as a Priest and Bishop
Severo Aparicio Quispe became a priest on September 22, 1951. Years later, on December 11, 1978, he was chosen for an important role. He became an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Cuzco. An auxiliary bishop helps the main bishop of a large church area.
He also became a titular bishop of Vegesela in Numidia. This means he was given a special title linked to an old church area. On March 4, 1979, he was officially made a bishop. This ceremony is called a consecration. It was performed by Cardinal Juan Landázuri Ricketts.
Retirement and Later Years
Severo Aparicio Quispe retired as an auxiliary bishop on April 10, 1999. He was 75 years old, which is the usual retirement age for bishops. After retiring, he lived at the Mercedarian monastery in the city of Cuzco. He passed away on May 6, 2013. He was buried in the crypt of the cathedral in Cuzco.
