Shalini Kapoor is the India's first woman IBM Fellow. She is working as President and Chief Technologist for AWS, India.
Early life and education
Kapoor was born and raised in India, growing up in the city of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. She received her B.Tech. in Computer science from University of Lucknow's Institute of Engineering and Technology. She also gained an MBA in Information Systems from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research.
Career
Shalini started her career with HCL, where she worked for three years, after which she joined IBM Software Labs as a solution architect.
She is the first woman IBM Fellow in India and as India's CTO for AI Applications, she leads strategy and thought leadership on AI Infusion across all IBM's global offerings. Known for incubating next-gen solutions, her current focus is on creating AI solutions that address climate risk, sustainability, and women's participation in STEM. Shalini holds 14 patents and is a frequently published author and speaker.
She is author of the book, 'AI for You: The New Game Changer'.
She also founded the Ankurit Foundation, an NGO that facilitates the early adoption and education of technology and innovation within children.
