Shannon Gomez was born on October 5, 1996. He is a professional footballer from Trinidad and Tobago. Shannon plays as a right-back. He currently plays for San Antonio FC in the USL Championship. He also plays for the Trinidad and Tobago national team.

Shannon's Football Journey
Early Days and School Football
Shannon Gomez went to Carapichaima RC Primary School. Later, he attended St Augustine Secondary School. He was the captain of his school team. In 2013, he helped St Augustine win the Intercol title. They beat Fatima College in the final match.
After school, Shannon played for a team called Waterloo Institute. Then, he moved to Cap Off Youths. He also played for St Mary's United. Before turning professional, he joined San Juan Jabloeth.
Becoming a Professional Player
In August 2014, Shannon joined TT Pro League club W Connection. In his first season, his team finished second. This helped them qualify for a big tournament. It was the 2016 CFU Club Championship preliminary round.
Shannon played every minute of the Savonetta Boys' four games. This was during the 2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League. A special moment was when they won 2–1 against Deportivo Saprissa. This is a club from Costa Rica.
Playing in Major League Soccer
In March 2016, Shannon Gomez joined MLS team New York City FC. He joined them on loan from W Connection. He signed a contract with the club after a good pre-season camp. Shannon has a green card. This means he does not take up a special spot for international players.
He was on the bench for a game against Chicago Fire. This was on April 11, but he did not play. Shannon returned to W Connection in Trinidad & Tobago at the end of 2016.
New York City FC decided to sign Shannon permanently. This happened on November 28, 2016. However, he left NYCFC on November 27, 2017.
Moving to New Clubs
On February 7, 2018, Shannon joined Sacramento Republic. This team plays in the United Soccer League. Sacramento kept him for the 2021 season. But after that season, Shannon left Sacramento.
On January 13, 2022, Shannon Gomez signed with USL Championship team San Antonio FC. He plays there now.
Shannon's International Career
Playing for Youth National Teams
Shannon Gomez first played for his country with the Trinidad & Tobago Under-17s. His first game was a huge 23–0 win. They played against the British Virgin Islands Under-17s. He played five more games for this youth team. His last game for them was in April 2013.
He also played for the Trinidad & Tobago Under-20s. His first game was on January 10, 2015. It was a 2–2 draw against Jamaica Under-20s. He was captain and played four more games that month.
Shannon played a short time for the Under-21s. This was in a 3–0 win against St Vincent & The Grenadines. He also played for the Trinidad & Tobago Under-22s. His first game was on July 13, 2015. They lost 4–0 to Uruguay Under-22s. He also played in games where they lost to Paraguay Under-22s and Mexico Under-22s.
Playing for the Senior National Team
Shannon made his first appearance for the senior Trinidad & Tobago team. This was on March 28, 2015. It was a friendly game, and they lost 1–0 to Panama. Shannon played for 77 minutes in that game.
His second game for the national team was on June 6, 2015. He played for seven minutes in a 1–0 loss to Curaçao.
In June 2023, Shannon Gomez was chosen to be part of the Trinidad squad. They played in the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
