Shannon Dean Scott (born December 21, 1992) is an American professional basketball player. He played as a point guard. Shannon played college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes. After college, he played professionally in many different leagues. These included the NBA G League in the USA, and leagues in Greece, Venezuela, Lithuania, Germany, and Australia. His last team was the Kaohsiung Aquas in Taiwan.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Shannon Scott was born in Alpharetta, Georgia. He went to Milton High School in Milton, Georgia. During his senior year, he was a star player. He averaged 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 2.7 steals per game.
His team, the Milton Eagles, had a great record of 29 wins and only 3 losses. They won all 12 of their conference games. In his last three years at Milton, Shannon helped his team win 82 games and only lose 15. They won a state championship and played in three championship games. In 2011, he was named a McDonald's All-American, which is a big honor for high school basketball players.
College Basketball Career
Shannon Scott played college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2011 to 2015.
Freshman Year (2011-2012)
As a freshman, Shannon played in 51 games. He scored 1.2 points and grabbed 1.1 rebounds per game. He also had 36 assists in total. He played in four NCAA tournament games, averaging almost 12 minutes per game.
Sophomore Year (2012-2013)
In his second year, Shannon played in all 37 games. He averaged 4.9 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He was second on his team in both assists and steals.
Junior Year (2013-2014)
During his junior season, Shannon played in 35 games and started 21 of them. He averaged 7.5 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.0 steals. He was also named to the Big Ten All-Defensive team for his excellent defense.
Senior Year (2014-2015)
In his final college season, Shannon started all 35 games he played. He averaged 8.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He played about 30.5 minutes per game. His 5.9 assists per game ranked him 17th in the entire nation. He scored a career-high 21 points against Minnesota. He also had an amazing 16 assists in a game against Sacred Heart. He was recognized as an Honourable Mention All-Big Ten player.
Professional Basketball Journey
After college, Shannon Scott began his professional basketball career.
Raptors 905 (2015–2016)
Shannon was not chosen in the 2015 NBA draft. However, he played for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2015 NBA Summer League. After training with the Toronto Raptors, he joined their G League team, Raptors 905, for the 2015–16 season. On March 24, 2016, he made history for the Raptors 905. He recorded the team's first-ever triple-double with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists in a close win. In July 2016, Shannon also played for the Phoenix Suns in the 2016 NBA Summer League.
Playing in Greece (2016–2017)
On September 28, 2016, Shannon signed with Doxa Lefkadas. This team plays in the Greek Basket League.
Long Island Nets and Venezuela (2017–2019)
In November 2017, Shannon joined the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League again. After the 2017–18 G League season, he went to Venezuela. There, he played for Panteras de Miranda in the LPB league.
Shannon played for the Charlotte Hornets in the 2018 NBA Summer League. In October 2018, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets. He was soon released but then rejoined the Long Island Nets for the 2018–19 season.
Lithuania and Germany (2019–2022)
On August 8, 2019, Shannon signed with Juventus Utena in the Lithuanian Basketball League. He later returned to the Long Island Nets for a third time in 2021 for a special G League "hub season." On October 24, 2021, Shannon signed with Brose Bamberg in Germany, playing in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL).
Playing in Australia (2022–2024)
On August 12, 2022, Shannon signed with the Cairns Taipans in Australia for the 2022–23 NBL season. On April 28, 2023, he signed a two-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets. He was released from his contract with the Bullets on July 17, 2024.
Kaohsiung Aquas (2024)
On March 5, 2024, Shannon signed with the Kaohsiung Aquas in Taiwan, who play in the T1 League. He left the team on July 19, 2024.
Personal Life
Shannon Scott's parents are Charlie and Trudy Scott. He has two siblings, Simone and Shaun. His father, Charlie Scott, was also a professional basketball player. He played in both the ABA and the NBA after playing college basketball for North Carolina.
