Shareena Clanton is an Australian actress. She has worked in films, television shows, and theatre plays. Many people know her for her role as Doreen Anderson in the TV drama series Wentworth, which she starred in from 2013 to 2017.

Early Life and Education
Shareena Clanton was born in Perth, Western Australia. Her family background is very diverse. From her mother's side, she has heritage from the Wangkatha, Yamatji, Noongar, and Gidja Aboriginal groups. From her father's side, she has Cherokee, Blackfoot, and African-American roots.
She first studied an Aboriginal Theatre course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Later, she was accepted into the full-time acting course at WAAPA. She graduated from there in 2010.
In 2009, even before she finished her studies at WAAPA, Shareena made her first film appearance. She played Leah in the comedy movie Stone Bros.. In 2011, she became a main cast member in the TV series Ben Elton Live from Planet Earth.
Shareena has also performed in many theatre plays. Her first big stage role was in Alan Ayckbourn's My Wonderful Day in Sydney in 2011. After that, she played Adrianna in The Comedy of Errors and Ariel in The Tempest. These plays were part of the Shakespeare WA events.
She has starred in several television series. These include Redfern Now (in 2012) and Wentworth (from 2013 to 2017). In Wentworth, she was the youngest main cast member.
In 2021, Shareena was set to appear in the soap opera Neighbours as Sheila Canning 2. Before her first episode aired, she spoke publicly about her concerns regarding racism on the show. She stated that she felt uncomfortable while working there. After she spoke out, an investigation began into these claims. Other former cast members also shared their experiences. The investigation finished in late 2021, but the findings were not made public.
In 2022, she played Valerie in seven episodes of Joe vs. Carole. Also that year, Shareena lent her voice to the character Deb in the animated series Childish Deano.
In 2023, she played Ruby in the miniseries The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart on Amazon Prime Video. Ruby is a park ranger who becomes a friend to the main character.
In 2024, Shareena appeared in the second season of The Twelve on Foxtel. She was also announced as part of the cast for the 2025 Stan series Invisible Boys.
Other Activities and Public Speaking
In February 2018, Shareena appeared on the ABC Television show Q+A. On the show, she spoke about the importance of Indigenous voices. She said that Indigenous people should have a place in parliament to share their perspectives.
Awards and Nominations
- 2011: She was nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Newcomer. This was for her role in My Wonderful Day.
- 2012: She was nominated for an Australian Film Institute Awards. This nomination was for her role in Redfern Now.
