How Did Sheerness Get Its Name?
The community of Sheerness likely got its name from a town in England also called Sheerness. A person named Mr. George Crozier named the community. He chose the name to remember a seaport town on the east coast of England. The first person to work as a postmistress, who managed the mail, was Mrs. Margaret Crozier in 1909.
