Shelley King (born 25 September 1955) is a British actress. She is well-known for playing Jay Harper in the BBC show Angels. She also played Yasmeen Nazir in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

Shelley King was born in Calcutta, India, in 1955. Her father, Kelly King, was a photographer. Shelley grew up in New Malden, Surrey, in the UK. She went to Coombe Girls School there. Even though she has British and Indian family roots, she does not speak any Indian languages. Shelley King is in a civil partnership with Trilby James.

Shelley King's Acting Career

Shelley King started her TV acting career in 1975. Her first big role was Jay Harper in the BBC drama series Angels. She stayed on the show until 1980.
