Shiprock High School is a public high school located in Shiprock, New Mexico, USA. It's part of the Central Consolidated School District. Other schools in this district include Kirtland Central High School and Newcomb High School. The school's colors are crimson, silver, and turquoise. Their mascot is the Chieftain.

School Facilities
Performing Arts Center
Shiprock High School has a special place called the Phil L. Thomas Performing Arts Center. This center is used for many different kinds of shows. You can see dance performances, music concerts, and theatre plays here. The school has also hosted big events, like the Navajo Times All-Star banquet for athletes.

Sports Facilities
Shiprock High School has great places for sports. The biggest one is Chieftain Stadium. It's used for football games and track and field events. It can also be used for soccer.
The school also has the Chieftain Pit, which is where basketball and volleyball games are played. There's also the Natatorium for swimming. Other facilities include fields for baseball and softball, a 4-court tennis area, and a cross country course. There's also a weight room and more basketball courts.
In 2011, the Navajo Nation and Shiprock High School hosted the Native Vision Sports Camp. Many professional and college athletes volunteered to coach. About 800 young people from over 15 tribal nations attended. They learned about six sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, track, and lacrosse.
Sports and Activities
The school's basketball area, known as "the pit," can hold 4,000 people. Girls' varsity basketball games often sell out all the seats.
The Chieftains have won 16 state championships from the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA). They have also won many district titles. Shiprock High School is part of the NMAA Class AAAA schools in District 1-AAAA.
Other schools in District 1-AAAA include Thoreau High School, Wingate High School, and Navajo Prep.

State Championships Won
The Shiprock Lady Chieftains basketball team has won six state championships. They won in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 2002, and their most recent win was in 2017. The Shiprock JROTC program also won state titles in 2017 and 2018. This adds to the school's total of 16 state team titles. Shiprock High School has also won many district titles and has had many individual state champions.
