Shirley Henderson is a talented Scottish actress born on November 24, 1965. She is well-known for playing many different characters in movies and TV shows. Early Life and Education
Shirley Henderson was born in Forres, Moray, Scotland. She grew up in a place called Kincardine-on-Forth in Fife. When she was a child, Shirley loved to sing. She performed in local clubs, at charity events, and even at holiday camps.
At 16, Shirley took a one-year course in Theatre Arts at Adam Smith College. After that, at 17, she moved to London to study acting. She spent three years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, a famous acting school, and finished her studies in 1986.
Shirley's Acting Journey
Shirley Henderson started her acting career in television and theatre. Her very first TV role was in a children's drama called Shadow of the Stone in 1987. She also performed in plays at the Royal National Theatre in London.
Early TV and Film Roles
In 1995, Shirley got a big role as Isobel in the popular BBC TV series Hamish Macbeth. Soon after, she started acting in movies. She played Morag in Rob Roy (1995) and Gail, the girlfriend of a character named Spud, in the movie Trainspotting (1996). She also showed off her singing skills in the film Topsy-Turvy (1999).
Becoming Moaning Myrtle
One of Shirley's most memorable roles is Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter films. She played the ghost of the young student in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) and again in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). Even though Moaning Myrtle is a ghost, Shirley brought a lot of personality to the character.
She also played Jude in the popular Bridget Jones movies, starting with Bridget Jones's Diary in 2001. She continued this role in the sequels, including Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004) and Bridget Jones's Baby (2016).

Shirley has appeared in many other films and TV shows. She was in Marie Antoinette (2006) as Princess Sophie. She also played the school matron in the 2008 film Wild Child.
