Shirley Henderson (born 24 November 1965) is a talented Scottish actress. She is well-known for playing Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter movies. She also appeared in the Bridget Jones films as Jude.
Shirley has won several important awards for her acting. These include two Scottish BAFTAs and an Olivier Award. She has also been nominated for many other awards. Besides films, she has starred in many TV shows and plays.

About Shirley Henderson
Early Life and Training
Shirley Henderson was born on 24 November 1965 in Forres, Moray, Scotland. She grew up in a town called Kincardine-on-Forth. As a child, Shirley loved to sing. She performed in local clubs and at charity events.
When she was 16, Shirley studied Theatre Arts at Adam Smith College. At 17, she moved to London to study acting. She spent three years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She finished her studies there in 1986.
Starting Her Acting Career
Shirley's first TV role was in 1987. She played Elizabeth Findlay in a children's show called Shadow of the Stone. She also started acting in plays in Scotland. Later, she performed in famous theatres in London.
In 1990, she played the main role in a play called Eurydice. She also appeared in TV shows like Wish Me Luck and Casualty. In 1995, she got a key role in the popular BBC series Hamish Macbeth.
Becoming a Film Star
Shirley soon began acting in movies. She played Morag in Rob Roy (1995). A year later, she was Gail in the movie Trainspotting (1996). She continued to act in many theatre productions too.
In 1999, she showed her singing skills in the film Topsy-Turvy. She also appeared in Wonderland.
Famous Film Roles
Shirley is widely recognized for her role as Moaning Myrtle. She played this ghost character in two Harry Potter films. These were Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005).
She also played Jude in all three Bridget Jones movies. These films were released between 2001 and 2016. Other notable roles include Princess Sophie-Philippine in Marie Antoinette (2006). She also played the school matron in the film Wild Child (2008).
