Hurricane Ike in 2008
On September 13, 2008, a very strong storm called Hurricane Ike hit the area near Galveston. Shoreacres was greatly affected. About 88% of the homes in the city were damaged by floods. Luckily, no one in Shoreacres died because of the hurricane.
