Showdown is a fun ski area located in the Little Belt Mountains in Central Montana, United States. It's a great place to go skiing and snowboarding!

History of Showdown Ski Area

Showdown Ski Area first opened in 1936. Back then, it was called King's Hill Ski Area. It is a smaller ski area that is usually open on weekends during the winter season.

Over the years, its name changed a few times. In 1973, it became Showdown Ski Area. Then, in 1995, its name changed again to Showdown Montana.

Where is Showdown Ski Area?

This ski area is found near Kings Hill Pass. It is in a high part of the Little Belt Mountains. The highest point at Showdown is about 8,200 feet (2,500 meters) above sea level. The base of the ski area is around 6,800 feet (2,100 meters) high.

Showdown has many different ski runs for all skill levels. For example, one of the most challenging runs is called Glory Hole. If you are just starting out, an easier run to try is Golden Goose.

Skiing and Snowboarding at Showdown

Showdown Montana offers a good amount of space for skiing and snowboarding. There are about 640 acres (2.6 square kilometers) of skiable land. You can find 34 different trails to explore!

To help you get up the mountain, Showdown has four ski lifts. These include one triple chairlift, two double chairlifts, and one conveyor lift. On average, the area gets about 20 feet (6.1 meters) of snow each winter, which is great for winter sports!
