Shreve is a village in Clinton Township, Wayne County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,497 at the 2020 census. Shreve is served by a branch of the Wayne County Public Library.
History
The village has the name of Thomas Shreve, the original owner of the town site.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.85 square miles (2.20 km2), all of it land. It is, however, drained by Shreve Creek, a tributary to the Killbuck Creek. The Killbuck Marsh, locally known as Shreve Swamp, is located outside of the Village limits and part of the Killbuck Creek watershed.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,514 people, 608 households, and 407 families living in the village. The population density was 1,781.2 inhabitants per square mile (687.7/km2). There were 688 housing units at an average density of 809.4 per square mile (312.5/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.7% White, 0.2% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.6% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.
There were 608 households, of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.7% were married couples living together, 16.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 33.1% were non-families. 28.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.00.
The median age in the village was 35.5 years. 27.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.7% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.5% were from 25 to 44; 26.2% were from 45 to 64; and 12.6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 48.1% male and 51.9% female.
