Shumpei Inoue (井上 俊平, Inoue Shumpei) was a Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a forward. He also played for the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs

After finishing his studies at Mikage Higher Normal School, Shumpei Inoue joined a football club called Osaka SC. Many other talented players who also played for the Japan national team were part of Osaka SC during that time. Some of these players included Kiyoo Kanda, Shiro Azumi, and Yoshio Fujiwara.

Playing for Japan

In May 1923, Shumpei Inoue was chosen to play for the Japan national football team. This was for a big event called the 1923 Far Eastern Championship Games. The games took place in Osaka, Japan.
